Polycroo Polytunnel Success at Papdale Primary School: A Bumper Harvest in 2024

We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news from Papdale Primary School, where students, staff, and the wider community have celebrated their first-ever harvest from their Polycroo polytunnel. The school, with support from its Parent Council, has been working hard to cultivate their own fruits and vegetables since the installation of the polytunnel in spring 2024. Now, just a few months later, they’ve enjoyed the rewards of their hard work with a bumper crop of fresh produce!

A School Growing Together

The Polycroo polytunnel at Papdale Primary School has become much more than just a gardening project—it’s a symbol of collaboration and community spirit. Seeing pupils, teachers, and parents come together to grow their own food has been truly inspiring. From juicy tomatoes to crunchy carrots, the polytunnel has provided a space for students to learn about sustainable growing practices, the benefits of fresh produce, and the importance of working as a team.

Building Sustainability in the Heart of the School

At Polycroo, we believe in empowering communities to grow sustainably, and Papdale Primary School has truly embraced this ethos. With their new polytunnel, the school has a dedicated space to teach students how to nurture crops from seed to harvest. This hands-on learning experience not only enhances their understanding of food production but also encourages healthy eating habits and an appreciation for the environment.

The First of Many Harvests to Come

The first harvest is always a milestone, and we’re proud to have played a role in helping Papdale Primary School achieve this. The bumper crop is a testament to the school’s dedication and the effectiveness of the Polycroo polytunnel. With such an impressive start, we can’t wait to see what the next seasons will bring. Whether it’s sweet corn, vibrant peppers, or leafy greens, we’re sure the school’s polytunnel will continue to flourish.

Looking Ahead

The success of Papdale Primary School’s polytunnel is just the beginning. This project has shown that with the right tools and community support, anyone can grow their own food sustainably. The students and staff have already proven their green thumbs, and we look forward to seeing what they grow next!

At Polycroo, our mission is to make sustainable growing accessible to all. The joy and satisfaction that comes from harvesting your own fresh produce are unmatched, and we’re so excited to see how Papdale Primary School continues to grow and thrive with their Polycroo polytunnel.
